Ancestral Origins of Modern-Day Indians
Modern Indians seem to have ancestral roots from a group that arrived in India around 50,000 years ago, post the Toba eruption. The study does not conclusively state the presence of modern humans in India during the eruption 74,000 to 80,000 years ago. It is suggested that these ancient populations might not have contributed to the genetic makeup of present-day Indians, possibly due to extinction or genetic disappearance. However, the lack of ancient genome samples in the region could affect this conclusion.
