Get Out of Bed When the Alarm Rings
Anxiety and depression can worsen by staying in bed longer in the morning according to research. A study from the University of South Carolina found that individuals who stayed in bed longer experienced a fivefold increase in depression and anxiety, as well as a twofold increase in inflammation compared to those who got out of bed when the alarm rang. Utilizing various tools like sleep trackers, physical monitors, questionnaires, heart rate and blood pressure tracking, and blood work, the study revealed that getting out of bed promptly can significantly improve mental health and well-being, and lower inflammation.
