Creatine Supplementation and Kidney Function Insights

Creatine supplementation up to 20-30 grams per day for five years has shown no downsides. Elevated creatinine levels from creatine breakdown do not indicate kidney failure. Creatinine is not harmful and is only used as a metric for kidney function. Getting a cis-statin C test can provide a more accurate indication of kidney function unaffected by diet. It is recommended to include fasting insulin and homocysteine tests in blood work.
