Understanding Autophagy and Fasting for Insulin Sensitivity
The Davidson Claire girl is known for her intermittent fasting routine. She does a 36-hour fast every couple of months to improve insulin sensitivity. Autophagy is always happening in the body, but the rate can change. Whether you eat a lot or fast, some autophagy will occur, but at a lower rate. Fasting or reducing calorie intake can increase autophagy. However, there is currently no evidence to support that fasting is better than regular calorie restriction.
