Startups often underestimate the depth and breadth of skills required for success. Simply being academically outstanding is not enough. Comfort in adversity, drive to execution, and analytical rigor are necessary. Initially, the company struggled to filter and train employees effectively. However, they have since improved their training program. Being T-shaped, possessing a broad range of skills while specializing in one area, is important for a startup operator.
