Transition from web development to furniture making and online sales
The speaker started a web development shop, but wanted to build something they could steer the direction of, so they set up a wood shop in their bedroom and started making furniture, mainly desks with a computer built in. They encountered challenges in selling the furniture through traditional storefronts and decided to sell online, initially using eBay. After building a website to sell their own furniture, they were approached by a friend to build a website for their furniture sales, leading to a transition from web development to furniture making and online sales around 2005.
