Why Emotion Regulation is Critical to Being Indestructible
The key to becoming indestructible is mastering internal triggers, which account for 90% of our distractions. External triggers such as cell phones and computers only account for 10% of distractions. The reason we get distracted is because of uncomfortable emotional states that we seek to escape. This is why even though we know what to do, we often don't do it. All our problems, including time management, weight management, and money management, are ultimately emotion regulation problems. All human behavior is driven by a desire to escape discomfort. To become indestructible, we need to recognize and manage our internal triggers.
