Unintentional Cohort Formation
The speaker initially intended to work on Calcutta but ended up working on Ahmedabad due to the mentor's influence. The accidental formation of a Gujarat cohort occurred as most students were directed to work on Goodraut. The choice to focus on Kera and Central Gujarat stemmed from the region's historical significance in agrarian capitalism, Gandhi's Satyagraha, and its classification as the most criminal region in western India. This paradoxical mix of capitalism, nationalism, and criminality intrigued the speaker, leading to a deeper exploration of the region.
