The Effects of Protein on Constipation
When it comes to protein intake, the percentage of calories consumed is important to consider. Eating 200 grams of protein may not seem like a lot if you're consuming 4,000 calories, but it's actually 20% of your daily caloric intake. On the other hand, consuming 150 grams of protein on 1,500 calories is 30% of your calories. So, the percentage matters more than the actual amount. Don't worry too much about macronutrient ratios affecting your protein needs, but do consider other elements like complex carbohydrates to avoid constipation and microbiome issues.
