The Power of Exponential Growth and Solving Engineering Problems on Earth
We observe exponential growth of problems and capabilities in various aspects of life. This is similar to the exponential growth of transistors according to Moore's law. People may not understand the details, but they see progress happening. Initially, people think something is impossible, but someone always invents a solution. We invest billions or trillions because there is a demand for innovation. For instance, a digital key fob in a car is more powerful than what we had on the Apollo missions. This demonstrates the power of exponential growth. Therefore, we can solve engineering problems, manage climate and resources, and handle pollution on Earth. The capabilities to manage these issues also grow exponentially. So, if something is important, we will find a way to do it. This is evident in the innovations created by young people at science fairs.
