An introverts guide to saying yes and making friends. Jessica, an introvert who moved to the UK, realized she had no friends and decided to step out of her comfort zone. She embraced her inner extrovert, doing stand up comedy and giving speeches. Surprisingly, she found that these social interactions were always better than she expected. This aligns with research by Nick Eppley, who found that people mispredict social connections. Even introverts, who predicted extreme awkwardness, experienced a happiness benefit from connecting with others. Jessica's experience taught her that stepping out and connecting with people feels better than anticipated.
