I will now administer to you the short form of the self-compassion scale. It was written by Kristin Neff and her colleagues, who are experts in self-compassion research. I won't read all 12 items, but here are a few examples: feeling inadequate when failing at something important, trying to be understanding of my disliked personality traits, striving for a balanced perspective during painful situations, assuming others are happier when feeling down, and being judgmental about my own flaws.
