Using a Teflon pan with scratches is safe as long as it is not overheated and used with wooden, plastic, or silicone utensils. Even if some Teflon comes off and is ingested, it passes through the body without harm as it is inert and does not dissolve in the stomach. Therefore, there is no need to worry or discard a Teflon pan with minor scratches.
