Dealing with Fear and Taking Productive Actions
Fear of not finding stability is a common fear during times of change. It's important to normalize this fear and understand that it's a normal part of being human. Repressing or suppressing fear only makes it stronger, while stewing in fear leads to despair. The best way to overcome fear is to take small actions that activate the seeking pathway in our brain, turning off the rage pathway. This is similar to the behavioral activation used in treating depression. The goal is not to solve all problems immediately, but to change which part of our brain is activated.
