NOTE

Perfectionism: An Ideal to Inspire, Not a Goal to Achieve

Perfectionism is a universal human trait defined by the ability to envision a better reality and perceive the gap between that ideal and current circumstances. This trait can drive individuals to bridge the gap between their ideals and reality, leading to compulsive behaviors. Perfectionists can be categorized into two types: adaptive (healthy) and maladaptive (unhealthy). Healthy perfectionists view ideals as inspirations that motivate improvement without the necessity of achievement, while maladaptive perfectionists inaccurately equate ideals with attainable goals, leading to negative consequences.
