The Proof with Simon Hill

NOTE

Supplementing Omega-3 + Effects of Dietary Omega 6

If you measure your Omega 6 levels and they're at 4%, you have options. You can choose to eat fish or take a supplement with DHA and EPA, which bypasses the conversion process. Omega 6 isn't inherently a problem as long as it doesn't interfere with the absorption of DHA and EPA. If you're not eating fish or supplementing, you need to convert ALA from walnuts or hemp to get enough DHA and EPA. When choosing a supplement, check the nutritional information for the combined daily intake of DHA and EPA. There isn't a perfect ratio, but most supplements have more DHA than EPA, around 60-70% DHA and 30% EPA.
