The interplay of support and pursuit in fostering resilience and buoyancy
Support and pursuit are meant to toggle back and forth, creating reinforcements for leaning back into effort and strain. Building a framework where these systems are always toggling back and forth creates a buoyancy. Supporting teammates or being supported creates a feeling of warmth and a buffer, which in turn fosters resilience. Doing things for others and supporting others not only raises all boats metaphorically, but also at a neurochemical and hormonal level, creating a neurobiological impact.
