NOTE

The Galpin equation: Hydration for Cognitive Function during Exercise and Intense Work

Stay hydrated! The Galpin equation, developed by exercise physiologist Andy Galpin, applies to cognitive work too. Divide your body weight in pounds by 30 to get the number of ounces of water you should drink every 20 minutes when doing mental or physical work. It may seem like a lot, but dehydration can negatively affect cognitive function. Drink plenty of fluids, especially if you consume caffeine, a diuretic.
