The Flawed Nature of Humanity and its Connection to Religion
As a Jewish atheist, I don't believe Jesus is necessary for flourishing. However, religions like Christianity contain valuable insights. They recognize human flaws and the potential for cruelty and exploitation. This includes slavery, sadism, revenge, and malevolent ideologies. Yet, we also possess the capacity for goodness. I believe in human nature, which aligns with certain Christian principles. We are not blank slates and cannot achieve perfection.
