The first step is to ensure that detection skills and tools are accessible to journalists, community leaders, and human rights defenders. However, existing detection tools face challenges in deep fake detection, such as working only on specific types of deep fakes, struggling with low-quality social media content, and the trade-off between security and access. The second step involves better understanding the origin and manipulation of AI-infused media through techniques like content provenance, disclosure, invisible watermarking, and cryptographically signed metadata. This approach aims to reinforce trust and provide details about the content's creation, editing, and distribution, contributing to AI-infused media literacy and enhancing communication trustworthiness.
