There are two fundamental types of capitalism: bourgeois capitalism, exemplified by individual ownership and control like Henry Ford; and managerial capitalism, seen in modern public companies where ownership is dispersed among many shareholders and control lies with managers and executives. Managerialism is necessary for complex organizations but may lead to stagnation as managers typically focus on running things rather than innovating. To prevent stagnation, a return to bourgeois capitalism, characterized by disruptive innovation and individual ownership, is needed to drive action and progress.
