Micro-coaching Pt. 2: The 3 Levels of Accountability

The Leader Factor

NOTE

Moving from Task Level to Process or Project (Leadership Judgement in Delegation)

Task level accountability is not the final destination, but a starting point for learning accountability. Moving from tasks to processes or projects involves grouping tasks together in a sequence that repeats (process) or has a beginning and end (project). Progression from task level to process/project level requires a demonstrated track record of performance and judgment by the leader to determine when to make the transition. Leaders may need to push or over-delegate at times to accelerate individual development. Ultimately, the decision to transition is subjective and dependent on the leader's assessment of the individual's readiness and performance.
