NOTE

The Importance of Long-Term Studies on Gender Dysphoria in Children

Long-term studies on children with gender dysphoria show that the majority of them, if left alone until late adolescence, will settle into their biological identity. These studies indicate that gender dysphoria is relatively rare and that about 80-90 percent of affected children will eventually identify with their biological gender. Despite this, around 80 percent of these children may also develop a homosexual orientation. The findings suggest that allowing children with gender dysphoria the time and space to grow without intervention can lead them to align with their biological identity in the long run.
