The Risk of Privilege Corrupting Politics

Engaging in politics is dominated by privileged individuals who are at risk of being corrupted by their privilege. Those with less vulnerability may see politics as a means of self-expression or status signaling. Unfortunately, this often leads to personal attacks and undermines thoughtful debate. As privileged individuals, we must be open to the possibility that our own thinking may be corrupted in one of these ways.
