Procrastination and Creativity Relationship

The relationship between procrastination and creativity is characterized by a peak of creativity in the middle of procrastination, forming an upside-down U curve. Moderate procrastination tends to lead to the generation of the most creative ideas as it allows time for ideas to incubate and for problem reframing. On the other hand, immediate diving into a task results in tunnel vision, limiting the exploration of novel ideas, while chronic procrastination forces rushing with the easiest idea due to time constraints. By delaying the commitment to an idea and allowing it to incubate, the creative process becomes more effective and yields more innovative results.
