If you're in the gap your measuring yourself against something that isn't really there. If i'm appreciating him versus where he was six months ago or a year ago, and recognizing the growth then im ong to be seeing him more accurately. There's a good quote from ernest hemmingway: nobility is not about being superior to other people. It's about being superiorto your former self.
