Mental preparation for athletes should be rooted in the development of physical skills, as 95% of what athletes need to focus on is physical. Confidence on stage, a crucial mental aspect, is a direct outcome of the accumulation of physical skills. Confidence cannot be built through non-physical means like motivational speeches or highlight reels. True confidence stems from the successful performance of physical skills under conditions resembling the actual event. It is the experience of using accumulated skills that fosters genuine confidence, not just words or external motivation.
