Physiological response to fat adaptation and LDL cholesterol levels

The increase in LDL cholesterol levels after transitioning to a ketogenic diet may be a normal physiological response related to fat adaptation. Despite consuming a Mediterranean-style diet with low saturated fat content, the individual's LDL levels still increased significantly. This phenomenon is attributed to increased trafficking due to higher insulin levels and glycogen store repletion in the liver.
