Religion and Science: A Complementary Relationship

Among the prominent figures of the era, the majority were religious, with some clergy members and others deeply devoted to their faith. These scientists believed in a rational creator and assumed that the universe operated according to reason, allowing for the understanding of the universe through science. This contrasts with the notion in other cultures that the universe cannot be comprehended as it does not follow rational rules.
