Value of Allowing the Mind to Rest
The constant task-focused mindset can lead to overwhelming feelings and expends our mental capacity. Allowing the mind to rest without controlled processing is beneficial and generative. Culturally, there is a lack of value placed on letting the mind wander freely, similar to allowing a puppy off leash in a dog park. This cultural understanding needs to change, and this concept is different from traditional meditation. Practicing mindfulness can help in recognizing the constant task-focused mindset and the benefits of letting the mind rest.
