Overcoming the Tripping Point in Changing Habits

When trying to change habits, the tripping point often arises when feeling uncomfortable and facing uncertainty. This leads to habitual turning away from the discomfort, manifesting in various forms such as procrastination, avoidance, complaining, being resentful, perfectionism, indecision, and overthinking. The key is to pause in that moment of discomfort and train oneself to stay with it for a few seconds, gradually increasing the capacity to endure discomfort. This approach can lead to transformative change.
