Pacing and posing questions enhance persuasion
To help others break out of their thinking, agree with them as much as possible, then introduce disagreements subtly through questions. This allows them to discover flaws in their own thinking without feeling challenged. Encouraging an open mind reduces certainty, prioritizing outcome over ego aids in making better decisions. Working on someone's confidence in their opinion by pointing out past expert errors can also be effective in introducing doubt in their beliefs.
