NOTE

The Accuracy of Reading People and its Change in Long-Term Relationships

Research shows that individuals tend to read each other accurately about 20% of the time when first meeting, with variation ranging from 0% to 55%. However, in long-term relationships, such as marriage, the ability to read each other decreases. This decline is attributed to the initial phase of studying and understanding each other closely, leading to the creation of a model for the partner. Over time, as individuals change, the failure to update these models results in decreased accuracy in reading each other, similar to how parents may still treat their adult children as they did when they were young.
