NOTE

Constant versus Variable Tension

The concept of constant versus variable tension in martial arts is crucial. Constant tension can hinder movement, make one predictable, and easily exploitable by an opponent. Being constantly tight and rigid not only limits mobility but also makes one easier to push off or bridge against. In contrast, maintaining variable tension by staying loose and relaxed enhances unpredictability, makes it harder for opponents to leverage, and discourages being exploited by adversaries.
