Distinguishing Motivational Interviewing from Common Sense Counseling

The main difference between motivational interviewing and common sense counseling lies in how the counselor approaches the conversation. It shifts the focus onto the individual's perspective and encourages them to reflect on how they can avoid similar situations in the future.
