Mental Safeguards for Objectivity
Having mental safeguards for bad opinions is crucial when seeking the truth. One effective strategy is to question if you can convincingly argue both sides of a debate, and if not, recognize potential partisan bias. Additionally, being open to considering what would convince you out of a certain position helps counter being too dug into a position. Rather than striving for unbiasedness, it is more realistic and beneficial to be aware of your biases and actively engage in mental practices to counter them.
