In the midst of lockdowns, it's important to shift our perspective and mindset. Instead of focusing on limitless time and efficiency, we should embrace conscious limitations on work. Techniques like Personal Kanban and fixed volume productivity can help us prioritize and accomplish meaningful tasks. Rather than making unrealistic to-do lists, we should determine how much time we realistically have and decide what's most important to fit into that time. By finding the right size of work packet and committing to it daily, we can make significant progress.
Welcome to part two of my conversation with Oliver Burkeman. He wrote a great, big successful column for The Guardian for years and more recently as attained some notoriety for the book called Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals. By the end of today's episode, you will have rewired a certain part of your brain that keeps you caught stressed all the time and have permission to make a different choice.
