When we see natural talent, it's mind-blowing and we often feel we can never be like that person. The speaker, an introvert afraid of public speaking, watched MLK's speech and felt demoralized, thinking he could never be that good. But he realized that MLK's speaking skills were not innate, but rather the result of practice and growing up in an oral culture. We often assume that great speakers are born with talent, but we don't see the hard work and journey they have taken to get to where they are.
