Effects of Anesthesia on Consciousness and Pain Perception
Experiments have shown that certain anesthesia techniques can inhibit muscle movement and the formation of long-term memory, preventing patients from remembering their experiences during surgery. For instance, experiments demonstrated that patients under anesthesia were able to move their arm and express pain during surgery when the muscle relaxant did not reach the arm.
