Heat Acclimation Increases Sweat Rates and Water Loss

Heat acclimation leads to increased overall body sweat rates, with typical numbers reaching one to two liters per hour and sometimes even higher. This can result in significant water loss during exercise, with the highest recorded numbers being as much as three and a half liters per hour. Contrary to common belief, being heat acclimated does not necessarily mean you will lose less water; in fact, you may end up losing more, which can be problematic.
