Engaging in exercise might not necessarily increase the risk of injury compared to remaining sedentary. A year-long study showed similar injury rates between two groups, one actively doing conditioning and the other remaining insufficiently active. Despite the difference in activity levels, both groups had comparable injury rates, suggesting that there is a non-zero risk of injury in daily life regardless of physical activity level.
