Quality of Immune Response to Infection and Vaccination

Infection results in higher and more prolonged protein levels in the germinal center which leads to a more robust immune response. Even asymptomatic infections can generate a good immune response with lower viral levels. CD8 T cell responses from vaccines are promising as nucleic acid-based vaccines aim to produce antigens inside cells for better immune presentation.
