An observation is a single layer, while an insight is multi-layered and complex, similar to a seven layer dip. Observations can be powerful and lead to new ideas, but they are not insights. Insights are connected to observations but go beyond them. To differentiate, an insight involves depth and nuance, offering more profound understanding than a mere observation.
