The Gap Between Behaviour and Identity: Understanding Children's Actions
Kids' behavior should not define their identity. Instead of assuming that their behavior reflects who they are, we should see it as a sign of their struggles or lack of skills. For example, kids may hit their sister because they want attention or feel lonely. Understanding this can help us see that everyone, including our parents, has goodness inside. As for lying, it serves a purpose in maintaining attachment to our parents. Lying can help us avoid negative consequences or stay close to them. However, lies often escalate and can deviate from reality.
