Intrinsic 24-hour Clock in the Human Body

The human body has an internal 24-hour timer known as the circadian clock, which was recognized in the Nobel Prize-winning discovery of the molecules involved in this timing mechanism. Traditionally, it was believed that the central clock in the brain controlled all circadian processes in the body based on signals from light. However, recent research has shown that there are multiple clocks scattered throughout the body, not just in the hypothalamus, challenging the previous understanding of circadian rhythm regulation.
