Embrace Diversity, Measure Diverse Talents

Standardized testing can limit the potential of students by capping their performance. The pressure to equalize results by demographic groups leads to a restriction on test scores. However, there is an opportunity to create tests with much harder questions to identify top talent, while also embracing diversity. The current approach prioritizes reducing group distinctiveness over unearthing talent, creating a contradiction in the pursuit of diversity. Embracing diversity requires the ability to measure and distinguish diverse talents, rather than expecting everyone to be the same.
