The Correlation Between Fish Intake During Pregnancy, Omega-3, and Intelligence

Eating fish during pregnancy, specifically those high in omega three, is correlated with improved intelligence in children. The presence of mercury in the fish does not affect intelligence as long as omega three is also consumed. Swordfish, high in mercury and low in omega three, should be avoided. Wild caught salmon is a good option. Supplementing with 1.5 to 2 grams of omega three per day can increase the omega three index from 4% to 8%, leading to a longer life expectancy.
