Prioritize Triglycerides Over LDL
The triglyceride to HDL ratio is a more accurate reflection of metabolic health than solely relying on LDL levels. Triglycerides offer a clear indication of metabolic conditions and can effectively reveal body composition based on lifestyle factors such as diet and physical activity. In individuals with poor metabolic health, triglyceride levels rise, while high HDL and low triglycerides are indicative of fitness and health. Moreover, triglycerides tend to decrease with positive lifestyle changes, unlike LDL, which may not decrease or could even increase despite improved health, highlighting the need for a revised focus on triglycerides for assessing overall metabolic health.
