The Importance of Articulating the Why

Having good conversations is important, but if you can't explain why you're doing something, maybe your idea isn't great. That's why I came up with the explanation effort meter, which helps me gauge how difficult it is to explain my decisions. If it's too hard, I know I need to reconsider. This mindset guided me when I became the Chancellor of the University of Texas system.
