NOTE

Efficient Merge Mining and Block Finalization

The prototype running on testnet involves collaborating with major bitcoin companies to design a new type of merge mining that addresses the challenge of reducing block times to be competitive in the DeFi arena. The issue with previous merge mining was the unpredictability and non-deterministic nature of bitcoin's proof of work system leading to shallow forks when block times were reduced. By separating block production from finalization and introducing sequencers similar to Ethereum, the likelihood of forks is reduced, ensuring efficient merge mining and block finalization.
